We are creating an attractive, open, diverse and innovative new city quarter in Basel together with the citizens of Basel, the various stakeholder groups and especially our partners, the canton of Basel-Stadt and Swiss Life.
Central Real Estate wants to use its expertise and its resources to help make this happen. We create and implement ideas for environmentally friendly urban spaces for living, working and leisure. We see planning and execution as a process that we develop together with city residents, various stakeholders and our partners, the canton of Basel-Stadt and Swiss Life. It’s only by working together that we can develop open, innovative living spaces and find good solutions, responsibly creating superior benefits as well as non-material and financial values.
It is open to various forms of communal living and to different generations, income levels, nationalities and cultures. Aesthetic diversity is also self-evident in the architectural and exterior designs, as is a respectful approach to Klybeck’s history as an industrial quarter. The residents here are frugal with energy, raw materials and space (and share them with others).
High density in one place creates more space in others. The goal is to achieve an average utilisation rate of at least 3.0 across the entire project area. The quarter provides living spaces for people who want to make Basel their home. One third of the planned living space is also reserved for affordable housing. The citizens of Basel are actively participating in planning the future of this quarter.
Therefore, we are already looking to new forms of participation, such as public quarter meetings or digital options for interactive participation. We look forward to working with the community in the development of sustainable and forward-looking living spaces for the Klybeck quarter.
